Creating a powerful theatre piece from the ground up can be tough, but our workshop is here to transform the process from daunting to inspiring! Tailored to support the full journey of devising original work, this session is designed to unlock creativity and demystify the theory behind impactful theatre-making.
Students will dive into an array of professional techniques, gaining hands-on experience with invaluable tools for their own creations. From sparking ideas with unique stimuli to exploring the dynamics of action and reaction, they'll also learn the "Mantle of the Expert" approach and more, each exercise crafted to deepen their skill set.
In every activity, we break down each tool with clarity, ensuring students not only understand but also feel confident applying them in their future projects. By the end, they'll be equipped and inspired to bring their creative visions to life!
Curriculum
We will explore contrasting devising processes and the techniques used within to see how different approaches can alter the feeling and intention of performance. We will create a safe space for the students to trial and develop their theatre pieces, offer a range of new tools that will aid the creation of theatre, and give additional guidance on explaining the theory behind it.
